Why did some of you become christian?

I guess you can say I became christian, out of desperation. My mother abandoned me long ago. I was sent to different relatives houses, kids at school always picked on me, and the teachers were no help at all and I was always shoved off to different schools because I moved so much. My older sister who is in her 30's hurt me spiritually and emotionally with her words calling me all sorts of hurtful names making me feel worthless. My dad ped away and believe me every time I try to take charge, or take some responsibility and control over my life, It gets harder everyday and I felt so overwhelmed and tired, I felt like I could not go on. So my other sister( I have a lot of sisters) told me about Jesus so I decided to give him a try. Well my problems did not go away completely, as a matter of fact it got harder, but it became more bearable for me to live a while longer until it was my time to p away. I know to some it sounds pathetic but I don't care, I can finally live my life and make something out of it with some comfort and hope in the near future.
