Bismuth crystals alloys worse then original?

i would like to grow bismuth crystals at my home. i know what to do and have the materials except the bismuth. i have come across bismuth that has a melting point of 271 degrees Celsius. i have also come across alloys with melting points of 47 degrees Celsius. i was wondering will the alloys produce lower quality crystals then the regular?
